Five Saints Net Double Digits in Win Over Bard

Five members of the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team scored double digits, as the Saints defeated Bard, 90-40, in conference play on Saturday afternoon in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. 

First-year Olivia Middleton led the Scarlet and Brown, shooting 5-for-12 from the floor and 2-for-3 from the arc, for 15 points. Ava McCann finished with 14 points and Annabella Pugliese added 13, while Katie Frederick and Olivia Barringer each scored 12. Frederick finished with a team-best nine rebounds, while Middleton led the Saints with six assists and two steals.
 
St. Lawrence took an early lead over Bard and never looked back, pushing to a double-digit lead with three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
 
A free throw from Pugliese gave the Saints their largest lead of the game, totaling a 29-point spread, en-route to a 49-23 half-time advantage.
 
The Saints went on to outscore the Raptors 22-7 and 19-10 in the final two quarters.
 
Christina Kiser shot 7-for-14 from the floor and led Bard with 24 points and five rebounds. Kiser also added two blocks and a steal. Jess Rylander ranked second on the Raptors' squad with six points.
 
The Saints shot a combined 51.5 percent from the floor and 53.3 percent from 3-point range, and held the Raptors to 31.6 and 23.1, respectively. The Saints added 30 points off turnovers and 37 points off the bench.
 
St. Lawrence improved 7-5 on the season and 3-2 in Liberty League play, while the Raptors fell to 5-7 and 0-5.
 
The Saints will host Ithaca on Friday, January 17 at 5:30 p.m.
