Aidan Callahan scored twice and sophomore
Andrew Terhune scored his first collegiate goal to lead the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team to a 3-0 shutout win over Hartwick in game two of the Mayor's Cup tournament on Sunday afternoon in Oneonta, New York.
Saints' goalkeeper
Ben Kelty made one save to earn his first shutout of the season.
Matthew Lawlor sent a cross into the box and found Callahan, who put the header away for the Saints first goal in the 5th minute of play.
Just about ten minutes later, Callahan made it 2-0 St. Lawrence on a penalty kick.
In the 56th minute, Terhune scored his first goal, with a header off the corner kick from first-year
Marvin Sibanda.
Hartwick goalkeeper Britt Reisman finished with eight saves.
St. Lawrence held a 20-4 shot advantage, including an 11-1 lead in shots on goal. The Saints also led 5-1 in corner kicks.
With the win, the Saints improved to 2-2-0 on the season, while Hartwick fell to 1-2.
St. Lawrence will travel to Cortland, New York to take on SUNY Cortland, Saturday, September 14 at 4 p.m.
