Miles Levy also tallied his second goal of the season, at 89:46, just before the end of regulation to give the Saints a 2-0 lead. Andrew Lenhant and
Aidan Callahan assisted on the play.
"It was a tough game for both teams with a hot day on the turf," said head coach
Mike Toshack. "I thought our players did well to maintain possession and create numerous dangerous chances especially in the first half. They also managed the second half well and were rewarded with a goal to seal the win. We had a lot of players come off the bench to help us get the win today, which was pleasing to see. Now we turn our focus to league play on Wednesday."
Alejandro Callejas and Sebastian Matos each recorded a shot on goal for the Bears.
Saints' goalkeeper
Ben Woelfinger made two saves, recording his first collegiate shut out, while Potsdam's Conor Callan made five.
St. Lawrence outshot the Bears 16-7 and led 7-2 in shots on goal.
St. Lawrence will open Liberty League play on Wednesday, September 25 with the Route-11-rivalry game against the Golden Knights in Potsdam, New York.
