LaMotte Scores Five; Saints Fall to Golden Knights

Senior Alexandra LaMotte scored five goals, while five other members of the St. Lawrence University women's scored, but Clarkson topped the Saints 19-10 in Liberty League action under the lights on Wednesday night at North Country Field.

Liddy DeConto, Jaime Allan, Claudia Barbera, Abigail Eberle and Morgan Barlow also scored for the Saints. Hannah Drechsel caused three turnovers, picked up two ground balls and won two draw controls. Isabel Silvia led the Saints with three draw control wins.

Clarkson built a fast 5-2 lead over the Saints just five minutes into the first half of play. Barlow brought the game within three on an unassisted tally at 13:46, but the Golden Knights continued to outscore the Saints, building a 12-6 advantage by halftime.

The Golden Knights continued to strengthen their lead, outscoring the Saints 7-4 in the second half for the win. Emma Andrews goal at 3:33 of the first frame served as Clarkson's game winner.



Jaid Baytos led Clarkson with three goals and four assists for seven points, while Katie Sergeant and Abby Collins each recorded three goals and one assist. Aubrey Borgesi also netted three goals, while Lexi Smith added two and five other members of the Golden Knights' squad each added one. Baytos also picked up four ground balls, caused two turnovers and won five draw controls.

Saints' goalkeeper Olga Lukas finished five saves, while Clarkson's Samantha Gladd recorded the win with eight saves.

The Golden Knights outshot the Saints 33-25 and held a 24-19 advantage in shots on goal.

St. Lawrence fell to 4-11 on the season and 2-7 in conference play, while Clarkson improved to 10-6 and 6-3.

The Saints will travel to Troy, New York to face Rensselaer in the regular-season finale on Saturday, April 27 at 12 p.m.
