A sweep of doubles coupled with singles victories from
Leo Romanetz and
Jordan Mamelak helped the St. Lawrence men's tennis team finish its stint in Orlando, Florida with a 5-4 win over Illinois Institute of Technology on Thursday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.
Mamelak's 6-2, 2-6, 10-5 win over Illinois Tech's Adam Laitinen at No. 5 clinched the win for St. Lawrence.
Romanetz factored into two wins for the Saints on Thursday, as he paired with
Quinn Bermingham for an 8-7 (1) tiebreak win at No. 1 doubles before posting a 2-0 (7-6 (2), 6-3) win at No. 2 singles.
Nico Haet and
Joshua Marvald, as well as
Spencer Whitmire and
Alec Roslin, helped the Saints to a sweep of doubles with 8-6 and 8-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
