The St. Lawrence men's tennis team opened their spring schedule with a 9-0 win over Oneonta on Saturday afternoon in the Newell Field House.
Nico Haet and
Leo Romanetz both came back from first set losses at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, to help the Saints to the clean sweep.
Haet was edged by the Red Dragons' Marco Amiratti 4-6 in the first set before winning the second 6-3 and third 6-1. Romanetz, on the other hand, rebounded from a 5-7 loss for a 6-2 win to force the a third set superbreaker which he won 10-2.
Alec Roslin also won his match for the Saints in three sets, while
Spencer Whitmire,
Jordan Mamelak and
Quinn Bermingham clinched straight-set wins for St. Lawrence in singles play.
Joshua Marvald and
Arman Tavana also helped the Saints to wins in doubles play, as Marvald paired with Haet at No. 2 and Tavana teamed with Whitmire at No. 3.
