Michael McDougald scored to tie the game but eighth-ranked Ithaca's Jonathan Kyriakidis scored in the 78th minute to lift the Bombers to a 2-1 win over the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team in Liberty League action on Saturday afternoon in Ithaca, New York.
The Bombers took an early lead as Colin Shust scored a header off the corner kick in the 26th minute of play, allowing Ithaca to carry a 1-0 lead into halftime. Tom Dillmann assisted on the play.
McDougald scored his third goal of the season off the pass from
Raphael Zoccolaro to tie the game 1-1 in the 73rd minute of play.
Kyriakidis put the game away for the Bombers with a rebound off the crossbar at 77:54.
Saints' goalkeeper
Ben Woelfinger recorded six saves for the Saints, while Max Lictenstein finished with four and the Bombers recorded one team save.
Ithaca outshot the Saints 13-9 and held an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal, led by Kyriakidis with three shots on goal.
Marvin Sibanda tallied four shots on goal for the Scarlet and Brown. The Bombers also took eight corner kicks to the Saints' two.
The Saints fell to 3-5-1 on the season and 0-2-1 in conference play, while Ithaca improved 10-1-1 and 3-0-0.
St. Lawrence will host Union on Wednesday, October 9 at 4 p.m.
