Watkiss led the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team with 10 points, but William Smith topped the Saints 65-40 in Liberty League play on Tuesday night in Geneva, New York.
Watkiss, who shot 2-for-6 from the arc, also recorded three rebounds, two assists and one steal, while
Meghan O'Connor scored eight points and Erin
Kumler added seven.
After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Herons held St. Lawrence to two points in the second to build a 26-12 halftime lead.
William Smith continued to control the pace of the game, outscoring the Saints 20-14 in the third to build a 20-point advantage heading into the final quarter.
Stavriana Dimitrakopoulou, who went 6-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the arc, and Mia Morrison led the Herons with 17 points each, while Olivia Hughes grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds.

outrebounded the Saints 47-40 and shot 36.5 % from the floor and held Saints to 28.8 % shooting. St. Lawrence finished with 14 points off the bench and 11 points off turnovers.
The Saints fell to 6-10 on the season and 3-6 in conference play, while the Herons improved to 10-5 and 6-3.
St. Lawrence will hit the road again this weekend to face Vassar and Bard on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Game times are set for 5 p.m. against the Brewers and 2 p.m. against the Raptors.
