Ithaca College running backs Kendall Anderson and Isaiah D'Haiti both scored two touchdowns, and the St. Lawrence University football team was unable to get into an offensive rhythm, falling to the Bombers 28-6 on a cold, rainy and muddy day at Butterfield Stadium in Ithaca on Saturday afternoon.
"Today was a day where we needed a strong running game due to the adverse weather," said St. Lawrence head coach
Dan Puckhaber. "The mud and the overall sloppiness of the field greatly impacted our execution. It was the most old-school football game I've ever been around.
"I'm proud of our kids; we went into halftime down 26-0. We challenged them, made a couple of changes, and came out to win the second half 6-2. The kids showed resolve all day and played with the toughness we like to see in our program. Our focus is on RPI."
Anderson scored the first two touchdowns of the game on 3- and 22-yard runs, and D'Haiti scored the next two on 6- and 3-yard runs to give Ithaca a 26-0 lead late in the first half.
Joseph Viscardo scored on a 19-yard pass from
Aaron Ruthman late in the third quarter, and the Bombers capped the scoring with a safety early in the fourth quarter.
Anderson gained 120 yards on 18 carries, leading an Ithaca ground game that picked up 203 yards. Wahid Nabi was 7-for-17 passing for 119 yards for the Bombers. Will Gladney caught four passes for 74 yards.

Andrew Murphy also had two catches for the Saints.
Liam Murray led the Saints' defense with 13 tackles, including two behind the line of scrimmage for a total loss of 10 yards. He also forced a fumble and broke up one pass, and now has double-digit tackle totals in five of six games played this season.
