Saints Capture Road Win Against Castleton

Conor Healey scored five goals and added an assist at the St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team topped Castleton 18-3 Wednesday afternoon at a neutral site game in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

The Saints were led by Healey, who was closely followed by Jordan Dow who added four goals, one assist and two ground balls. Jamie DeNicola, Jamie Kuppel and Alex Dunn added two goals for the Saints, while Kuppel also added an assist. Brett McCormack, Austin Nadeau and Tyler Burns each tallied one goal for the Saints.

St. Lawrence's offense was on fire as they outshot the Spartans 42-22. The Saints scored their first three goals of the game in a span of less than two minutes. Isaac Devoid put Castleton on the board with 3:36 to play in the first quarter. The Saints scored 14 unanswered goals that would span from the end of the first quarter to the start of the fourth to secure the win.

The Saints collectively picked up 42 ground balls to the Spartans 29, while Liam Doherty saw the majority of the action in the faceoff circle, winning 63 percent of his face-offs.

Alex Terry, Matty Corbelle and Conor Johnson would combine to make seven saves for St. Lawrence. 

Castleton was led by Louis Alhage with one goal and four ground balls, while Devoid and Tyler Crowningshield added the other two goals for the Spartans.

The Saints move to 2-0 on the season, as Castleton fell to 1-2 overall. 

The No. 6 Saints will return to Canton, N.Y. for their home opener against No. 12 Middlebury on Tuesday March 14th at 5:00p.m. at North Country Field.
