Eight different members of the St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team scored as the Saints topped Western New England 16-3 in their season opener Saturday afternoon in Greenwich, Conn.

Senior Andrew Jarrett led the way for the Saints scoring five goals while Jordan Dow and Jamie DeNicola added three each. Conor Healey, Nick Brindisi, Jon Fairbanks, Jack Suominen and Cal Hynson also scored for the Saints. Ryan Brigham grabbed four ground balls, while winning 70 percent of his faceoff attempts.

St. Lawrence dominated the field scoring the first 10 goals of the game through the first and second quarters. Frank Medlicott would put Western New England on the board at the 9:30 mark of the third quarter. The Saints capitalized on two man up advantages with both goals from Jarrett. The defensive field held the Golden Bears to one man up goal on eight opportunities, while Caleb Kane caused two turnovers for the Saints.

The Saints outshot the Golden Bears 43-to-25. Alex Terry played the majority of the game in net for the Saints, but each of St. Lawrence's four goaltenders saw time between the pipes combining for nine saves.

The Saints will travel to Plattsburgh, N.Y. for a neutral site game against Castleton this coming Wednesday, March 8th.
