Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

No. 5 Saints Post Fourth-Straight Win Over Babson

Conor Healey tallied four goals to lead the fifth-ranked St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team to their fourth-straight and first spring break win as they defeated Babson 11-8 Sunday afternoon at Naimoli Field in Tampa, Fla.

The Saints were led by Healey, who also tallied three assists and two ground balls, while Jamie DeNicola added three goals, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Jamie Kuppel, Connor Brimley, Jon Fairbanks and Joe Nickerson each added one goal for the Saints.

St. Lawrence got a jump start over the Beavers as they tallied seven goals in the first two quarters to hold a 7-1 advantage at halftime. Babson opened the second half scoring with an unassisted goal from Axel Brown. The Beavers attempted to edge the Saints, scoring seven of their eight goals in the second half of the game, but ultimately fell short. A balanced attack from the Saints' offense and defense throughout the fourth quarter allowed them to hold onto the win.

The Saints collectively forced 11 turnovers and killed off two man-up advantages for the Beavers. First-year goaltender Alex Terry made 13 saves for his fourth collegiate victory. Jordan Shapiro tallied 15 saves in goal for Babson.

Babson was led by Brendan Duffy and Samuel Mishkind with two goals each, while Austin Fabel, Niall Dillion, Jason Cox and Brown all added one.

St. Lawrence improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Beavers fell to 2-3 overall.

The Saints will return to the University of Tampa Tuesday evening for their second spring-break game against Colorado College.
