No. 4 Saints Sweep Spring Break, Remain Undefeated

The fourth-ranked St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team came from behind to earn their fifth-consecutive win of the season as they defeated Colorado College 10-6 Tuesday night in Tampa, Fla.

The Saints were led by Jamie DeNicola and Jordan Dow, who posted three goals apiece. Brett McCormack, Connor Brimley, Steven Peterson, and Austin Nadeau each contributed one goal. Dow also picked up five ground balls for the Saints, while McCormack and DeNicola tallied four and two, respectively. Conor Healey added three assists for the St. Lawrence.

The Tigers got off to an early start posting a 3-1 lead early in the second quarter. The Saints rebounded quickly tying the game 3-3 before intermission.  Both teams only allowed one goal in the third to keep the game within a point. St. Lawrence posted three-consecutive goals including two from DeNicola to edge the Tigers 7-4. Robbie Stern attempted a comeback bid for Colorado as he tallied a goal early in the fourth quarter. DeNicola ripped his second of the game and the winning shot with just over 12 minutes to play in the game.

St. Lawrence capitalized on 50 percent of their extra-man opportunities, outshooting Colorado 41-31. The Saints also picked up 35 ground balls to the Tigers' 24.

Stern led the Tigers' offense scoring four of the team's six goals. Tom Haller scored the other two goals for Colorado.

Alex Terry made 10 saves between the pipes for St. Lawrence, while Andrew Harwood recorded 17 saves.

The Saints moved to 5-0 on the season, while the Tigers fell to 5-2 overall.

The Saints will return home for their first Liberty League matchup of the season as they face Union on Saturday March 25th.
