The Vassar College women's basketball team held St. Lawrence to just 11 points in the first half and cruised to a 58-40 win in a Liberty League contest on Saturday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
After trailing 29-11 after the first half, the Saints outscored the Brewers 17-12 in the third quarter, but Vassar (8-8 overall, 5-2 Liberty League) held an identical edge in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Shayna Davner led the Saints (4-8, 2-3) with 11 points, all in the second half.Â
Maeve Sussman led all scorers with 15 points for Vassar, while Ariella Rosenthal had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sophie Nick added 11 points for the Brewers.
The Saints return to Canton for a three-game home stand next week, hosting Keuka in their final non-league game of the season at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, then facing Liberty League opponents RIT and William Smith on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
