Hynes Leads Saints to 66-40 Win Over Keuka

Meghan Hynes scored 20 points in 24 minutes to lead the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team to a 66-40 win over Keuka College in a non-league game at Burkman Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

Hynes scored 10 points in each half and was 9-for-14 shooting from the field.

Cara Waterson added 11 points and seven steals for the Saints, who outscored the Wolves in all four quarters. Kaelyn Kohlasch was also in double figures in scoring for St. Lawrence with 10 points.

After building a 32-20 halftime lead, the Saints saw the lead shrink to eight points after Lauren Anten hit a pair of shots. St. Lawrence responded with a 16-1 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Kohlasch with 3:43 left in the half, to build a 48-25 lead. The Wolves scored the next 11 points to cut the lead to 12, but the Saints responded with an 18-4 run to close out the game.



St. Lawrence hit 40.3 percent of their shots from the field and held Keuka to just 25.5 percent shooting. The Saints also had an edge on the boards, outrebounding the Wolves 47-41. Annabella Pugliese led the way with seven rebounds.

Katie Stuart scored 10 points to lead Keuka, which fell to 5-6 on the year.

The Saints, now 5-8 on the season, will host RIT and William Smith in Liberty League play this weekend, with a 6 p.m. tipoff of Friday against the Tigers, and a 2 p.m. start on Saturday against the Herons.
