Box Score The St. Lawrence University Men's Basketball team fell behind early on the road against RIT and the Saints never recovered in a 92-75 loss to the Tigers in a Liberty League matchup at Clark Gymnasium in Rochester Friday night.
RIT (11-11 overall, 7-6 Liberty League) used a 10-3 run in the first several minutes of the game to open up a double-digit lead at 22-11.
The Saints (12-9, 8-5) started to come back with a Kieran Miller 3-pointer but the Tigers scored the next nine consecutive points to surge ahead 31-14 with less than 10 minutes left in the first half.
The teams played an even final nine minutes of the first half and the teams went into the halftime intermission with the Tigers holding a 50-32 lead.
In the second half, the Saints whittled away at the lead and a Ben Crawford layup with 12:25 left to play cut the lead to just nine points at 62-53 and a 3-pointer by Kyle Edwards 30 seconds later made it an 8-point advantage.
The Tigers regained the double-digit lead with a jumper before Dom DeRegis drained a 3-pointer to make it a 7-point game at 66-59 but a 10-1 Tiger run gave RIT the momentum to close out the victory.
Riley Naclerio led the Saints with 16 points, Ben Crawford added 15 and Edwards finished with 10 for the Saints. Naclerio and Chris Miner each grabbed a team-best six rebounds while Willie Zachery finished with nine points and a team-leading six assists.
The Saints continue the weekend road trip with a 4 pm game at Hobart Saturday.
