Petry joined the St. Lawrence University men's baseball staff as an assistant coach in August 2026 after earning his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hobart College in May 2026. While in Geneva, he also received his Writing Colleagues Minor and Management & Entrepreneurial Studies minor.
A native of Plaistow, N.H., Petry was a mainstay in the Liberty League as a member of the Statesmen, starting in 145 career games as a two-year captain. As the team's second baseman, Petry slashed .286/.458/.347 for his career 504 at-bats and had 144 hits, 133 runs, 19 doubles, six triples and 66 RBI to go along with 57 stolen bases. A steady middle infield glove, Petry had a career .954 fielding percentage and had a .979 mark this past season en route to being named to the 2026 ABCA NCAA Div. III Region III All-Defensive Team alongside St. Lawrence center fielderÂ

Petry was named to the All-Liberty League honorable mention team as a sophomore and was named to the All-League Second Team this past season. Off the field, he was also honored as a CSC Academic All-District member twice, and earned awards from the Statesmen Athletic Association, including the Thomas B. Poole '61 Award and the Arnold Memorial Scholar Athlete.
Petry got his start in coaching with the Great Lakes Baseball Academy in Woodbury, Minn., where he served as a youth baseball coach, giving personalized instruction and serving as an associate coach for the 12U team. This past Summer, he served as a baseball Operations Intern with the Bourne Braves Baseball Club in Bourne, Mass. While with the Braves, Petry generated defensive and offensive scouting reports, was heavily involved in player development, and helped design the club's baseball camps for youth athletes.
