Flanagan joined the St. Lawrence University men's hockey staff as the coordinator of hockey operations in July 2025.
Flanagan, who is the son of former Skating Saints assistant coach, Paul Flanagan ’80 P’13 returns to Canton after serving as a Hockey Operations Intern at Princeton University in 2024-25. Brendan will join his cousin Kyle Flanagan ’13 on the coaching staff and will further add to the Flanagan Legacy that includes his father, Kyle, and his other cousin Sean Flanagan ’11.
Flanagan, who is a Canton, N.Y. native, graduated from Syracuse University’s David B. Falk School of Sport and Human Dynamics with his Bachelor of Science in Food Studies.
Following his collegiate career, which included four years of play on the Orange’s ACHA team, Brendan became a Nutrition Educator for PHMC, a non-profit in Philadelphia, Pa. Flanagan focused his exploits on hockey thereafter becoming the Lead Strength & Conditioning coach for the Syracuse Nationals AAA team and helped manage the Midstate Youth Hockey Association.
Brendan then became the Hockey Director with the Igloo Jaguars where for two years he oversaw the operations of 17 youth teams, served as the head of coaching and player development, and as the Social Media Manager.
Brendan developed a familiarity with the ECAC while at Princeton and helped coordinate practices, analyze game footage, and oversaw gameday operations.
