Hannah Tong, a 2017 graduate of the University of Findlay in Ohio, joins the Saints coaching staff for the 2017 season. Tong will serve as the assistant coach for the Saints under the direction of head coach Shelly Roiger who enters her eighth season at St. Lawrence.
Tong, an accomplished Division II student-athlete and 6'2" outside hitter for the Oilers, finished her career with 1,563 kills, had a career hitting percentage of .262, added 204 digs and posted 218 total blocks. Over the course of her four seasons at the University of Findlay, Tong held a career record of 90-38 and was a three-time AVCA All-American and First Team All-Conference player.
She was also named as a recipient of the GLIAC Commissioner's Award which recognizes six male and six female student-athletes from all sports at all fifteen member institutions in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference that excel both in the classroom as well as their athletic performance.
From the sidelines, Tong enters the Saints' program with some coaching experience as well. For three years she coached at the Oiler Attack Club, where she was able to work with all different types of skill levels. She also served and led summer camp coaching staffs while at the University of Findlay.
