Prior to St. Lawrence
McClung was a six-year member of the varsity swimming team at Sleepy Hollow, and served as captain her senior year. She was also a club swimmer at Rivertown Aquatics for most of her childhood and served as the team captain for two years. McClung was successful in the classroom as well as a high honor roll student, earning membership in the National Honor Society, the English Honor Society, the Math and Science Honor Society, and Rho Kappa (the national social studies honorary).
