Akimfura competed in squash at Westbrook High School in Maine, where she emerged as a leader both on and off the court... She served as team captain and helped her team finish runner-up at the 2024 SEA Team Nationals... Akimfura was also recognized for her leadership and involvement with the Student Council Award... Outside of school, she trained and competed with Portland Community Squash, where she captured the PCS Fall 2023 JSL Tournament title... She continued to excel in competition, winning the 2026 U.S. Women's Masters Squash 3.5 Singles Championship.
