Prior to St. Lawrence

Schmalz was a tri-sport athlete, competing on the lacrosse, basketball and field hockey teams.  The Millbrook, N.Y. native captained all three teams, and earned All-Star honors for both lacrosse and field hockey.  Kayla also excelled in the classroom as she was an honor roll student and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
