Prior to St. Lawrence

Hamilton was a tri-sport athlete at Hartford High School, playing field hockey and lacrosse and was a member of the indoor track team. She was a two-year team captain and earned All-American honors as a senior, First-Team All-State honors as a junior. She was also an academic All-American, a member of the National Honor Society and a high honor roll student.
