Jared Hatz was hired as the University's first full-time certified strength and conditioning coach in September 2019.

Hatz will work directly with the men's and women's hockey programs, and will also consult with the department's 32 Division III programs to design and implement training programs. In addition, he will supervise and monitor a new 10,000 square foot facility, which is included in the Appleton Arena renovations. 

Hatz brings six years of experience and a number of professional certifications to campus; he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN), USA Weightlifting Coach (USAW), Reflexive Performance Reset Coach (RPR), Precision Nutrition Coach (Pn1) and is also certified in Functional Movement Screen (FMS Level 2), CPR, AED and First Aid.

Hatz joins the Saints after serving as the head strength and conditioning coach at Division III Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania since September 2015. While with the Dutchmen, he was responsible for coaching, programming and scheduling for 26 varsity sports and also implemented a software-based platform for improved training card delivery, tracking, monitoring and communication between coaches and student-athletes.

He also had prior stops as the head strength and conditioning coach at Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut, served as an intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was responsible for coaching and leading training sessions with the men's and women's hockey teams, and also assisted in coaching programs for NHL, AHL and European ice hockey players.

While obtaining a master's degree in strength and conditioning from Springfield College, Hatz was a graduate associate as well as the college's first heads sports nutritionist in charge of nutritional consultations, nutritional goal setting and all other nutritional needs.

Prior to Springfield, he was also an intern at Northeastern University. 

A 2011 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in Kinesiology: Fitness Development, Hatz completed his master's at Springfield College in 2015.
