Prior to St. Lawrence
Emerson attended Potsdam High School and played hockey, soccer and lacrosse and also played for the Nepean Jr Wildcats, where she was an assistant captain. At Potsdam, she was captain of the hockey team, earned MVP, First-Team and Second-Team honors. She was the Rookie of the Year for hockey and a three-time Second-Team recipient in soccer and First-Team for lacrosse.
