2014: Matthews made an immediate impact for the Saints during her rookie season, finishing third on the team in batting with a .368 average and garnering First Team All-League honors as a catcher. The primary option for the Saints behind the plate, she tallied 28 hits in 76 at bats - including eight for extra bases - 15 RBI and nine runs scored. Additionally, she recorded 121 putouts and posted a .984 fielding percentage.

At Tamarac: An honor student, Matthews was a two-sport athlete, playing both soccer and softball at Tamarac. She captained her softball team as a senior and was a two-time Wasaren League honorable mention all star. On the softball diamond, Matthews earned First Team Wasaren League All-Star honors and was also named a Section II All-Star.
