Prior to St. Lawrence
Barsness was a member of the Nordic skiing, soccer, track and mountain biking teams at Glenwood Springs High School. She captained the mountain biking team and earned All-State honors in skiing all four years. She was fourth at states her senior year and eighth and ninth her sophomore year.Her team was State Champions her junior and senior years and runners up as freshman and sophomores. She competed at Junior Nationals in 2019, was a member of the National Honor Society and an honor roll student.
