2012-13: Mike competed in the throws as a rookie and had a season's best finish of fourth in the shot at the Can-Am Challenge. He also threw the hammer, javelin and weight.

A member of the soccer, lacrosse and indoor track teams at Verona High School, Michael was captain of both the lacrosse and indoor track teams. He was a member of hte National Honor Society, the National Chinese Honor Society and the Math Honor Society.
