Prior to St. Lawrence

Ricalton was a two-time Section 10 Class C individual champion in cross country for Canton and was the captain of the cross country and track and field teams. He was a six-time All-Northern selection (twice in cross country, four times in track and field) and a five-time New York State Championship meet participant. He was also successful in the classroom; he was a member of the National Honor Society, was an honor roll student and won the team's Scholar Athlete Award three times.
