2012: Max went 2-0 with a win at four against Bard in the Liberty League Championships and a win at five against Vassar. A performance and communication arts major, he is also the head of the chess society at St. Lawrence.

2011: Max played in two intercollegiate matches for the Saints, winning his match at six against Vermont and losing in the nine slot in a match against Harvard. He also played an exhibition match at Cornell.

At Taft: Garnett played soccer, squash and ran track and field and was an All League selection.
