2015: After three seasons as a backup, Roethel earned the starting goalkeeper job as a senior and helped the Saints to both the Liberty League regular season and tournament titles and an appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. He finished with the sixth-best GAA in Division III (.44), is now tied for second on the program’s all-time list for shutouts in a season (13) and posted a 16-4-2 record with a .853 save percentage, while also recording his first collegiate point with an assist on Oct. 17 against Union. At season’s end he was named the Liberty League’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year as well as first team All-Conference. He was also an All-Academic team member. 

2014: A Liberty League All-Academic team member, Roethel made two appearances in goal for the Saints during his junior season; both in the NCAA Tournament. He played the second half of the team’s 7-1 win over Purchase in the first round and was called upon for penalty kicks following the Saints’ 1-1 draw with Amherst in the second round. 

2013:  Roethel served as a reserve goalkeeper in his sophomore season.  The Monroe, NY native earned Liberty League All-Academic honors for his efforts in the classroom. 

2012:  Roethel did not allow a goal in 115:25 minutes played in his rookie year with the Saints and will compete for a starting position at goalkeeper next season. 

At Monroe Woodbury:   Roethel was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and track and field.  A captain of the varsity soccer team and the Ramapo Valley soccer club, he was a two-time first team All-Section selection.  The Monroe, NY native was a scholar-athlete.
