2011-12 Indoor: James added the 60 and 200 to his list of events and established career bests in the 400 and pole vault as part of his sophomore season. He had a PR of 51.37 in the 400 at the Terrier Invitational and cleared 4.10 meters in the pole vault, finishing fourth at Hamilton. He also ran on 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams.

2010-11: A member of the Saint league champion soccer team in the fall, James May competed in the 400 and the pole vault durin gthe indoor season. He was fifth in the Liberty League in the pole vault and won the Can-Am Challenge pole vault.

At Lockport
The MVP of the Niagara Frontier League and his team, James was first team All Western New York and fourth team All State in soccer. He also ran track and field and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll.
