Biography

2015: Copeland became the fourth player in men’s soccer program history to earn multiple NSCAA All-America honors as a second team selection in 2015, and also earned All-America honors from D3Soccer.com for the third straight season. The Liberty League Player of the Year and a first-team All-Region and All-Conference selection, Copeland was once again a dominant central defender for St. Lawrence, helping limit opponents to just 8.0 shots per game. A co-captain for the Saints, he played in all but one game and finished with three goals and one assist for seven points.

2014: Copeland continued his dominance in the back field for the Saints, while also making significant contributions offensively; finishing with eight goals and two assists for 18 points, including his first career multi-goal game against RIT on Oct. 11. He led the team in minutes played with 1867 and was tied for the team lead in game-winning goals, with four.  Career numbers helped him earn first team All-America honors from the NSCAA and second team All-America honors from D3Soccer.com. He was also selected as a first team All-Region, All-Conference and ECAC Upstate honoree.

2013:  Copeland continued his impressive play in the back field for the Saints in his sophomore season, earning Second Team All-East region honors for the first time in his career.   The Dedham, MA native helped anchor the defense in 21 starts, while adding four points (1g,2a) to earn Liberty League Second Team honors.

2012:  Copeland started at back in the majority of St. Lawrence's game in his rookie season, helping the Saints finish ranked 11th in the nation in goals against average (.57) and 12th in shutout percentage (.60).  The Dedham, MA native scored his first collegiate goal in the Saints' 4-0 victory against St. John Fisher and assisted on another against conference opponent Hobart, finishing with three points this season.

At St. Marks:  Copeland was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and lacrosse.  A captain in his junior and senior seasons, he was named All-ISL First Team, All-State and a NEPSSA All-Star in 2011.  The Dedham, MA native was team MVP as a senior and was on the honor roll.
