Twomey, a graduate of St. Joseph's College of Maine, has a bachelor's degree in environmental studies, and a minor in sustainable studies and biology. Rory was a member of the Monks' soccer team in school where he helped lead the team to the NCAA Tournament three times and was a team captain during his senior season. Twomey went on to play three years for Seacoast United in the NPSLÂ after his collegiate career. Twomey got his start in coaching at Bridgton Academy as an assistant coach before moving on to Far Post Soccer. Most recently, Rory was at the University of Vermont, where he started as the Director of Operations. In April of 2021, Twomey was elevated to assistant coach and was heavily involved with team logistics, recruiting, and opponent analysis.
