Prior to St. Lawrence
Mahoney was a tri-sport athlete at Hugh C. Williams, playing football, hockey and lacrosse. He was an All-Northern selection in football, a team captain, a three-time All-Northern selection and two-time All-State selection in hockey and a captain and two-time All-Northern selection in lacrosse. He was a high honor roll student and earned Academic All-Northern honors for all three sports. Mahoney also attended Choate Rosemary Hall to play hockey and was on the Deans List every semester. Mahoney is the middle son of current St. Lawrence men’s lacrosse head coach Mike Mahoney.
