John O’Connor rejoined the St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in August 2025. During the 23-24 and 24-25 seasons, he served as the team's graduate assistant coach, while obtaining a Master's degree.
Prior to joining the Saints program, O’Connor served as the Director of Sweetlax Florida Lacrosse Club and also as the Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach at his high school alma mater, Salisbury School in Connecticut, winning two WNEPSLA Championships and earning two trips to the Geiko National Championship. At Salisbury he worked with the Athletic Department as Assistant Athletic Director and with the Admissions Department as Director of Outreach.
A native of Canton, New York, John was a three-sport varsity athlete in soccer, hockey and lacrosse at Canton High School and an all section performer before moving on to Salisbury School for his final three years. At Salisbury John also played three varsity sports. Most notably he played midfield under Head Coach Bobby Wynne, winning two WNEPSLA championships and earning first team All-New England honors in his senior year.
O’Connor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware. Playing for the Blue Hens, John was the team's top short stick defensive midfielder and one of the top players in his position in the CAA. He earned preseason All-CAA honors by Inside Lacrosse Magazine. He played in 47 career games and recorded two goals, two assists, 111 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers. His teammates selected him as MVP in his senior year for his defensive tenacity, speed and game changing ability. At the time of his graduation he ranked in the top ten all-time for career caused turnovers at UD.
