Biography

Prior to St. Lawrence

A native of Helsinki, Finland, Svartström played junior hockey with the Cranbrook Bucks of the BCHL this past season, where he emerged as one of the league’s top offensive threats… He set the franchise’s single-season goals record with 46, led the league in goals, and was named a finalist for league MVP honors… A towering 6’5” left-shot forward, Svartström also provided 23 assists in 54 games for 69 points in his first season in North America… The forward played internationally with the Finland U19 and U20 teams, and prior to that played for the KooKoo U20 and U18 teams in SM-sarja.
