2012-13: The Saint captain for the 2013-14 season, Kyle Essery has played in every game in his first three years in the program. He scored seven goals and had four assists as a junior, matching his sophomore goal output. He was among the league leaders in shorthanded points with three on two goals and an assist. His shorthanders came at Yale and against RIT. He scored the game winning goal in the 4-3 win over RIT which was the 1,000th win in program history. He also assisted on the game winner in a 4-2 playoff win over Colgate.

2011-12: Kyle Essery played in every game for the Saints for a second straight season and finished his sophomore campaign with seven goals and five assists. An outstanding penalty killer and strong on faceoffs, four of Essery's five goals came on the power play and he had two game winners. He was among the team leaders with 35 blocked shots. He scored game winners against Michigan Tech and Brown and assisted on the game winner at Dartmouth which gave the Saints first-round home ice.

2010-11: Kyle Essery was one of four Saint players to appear in all 40 games in the 2010-11 season and was one of the heroes of a first-round playoff series victory at Princeton, scoring the game-winning goal in both game two and three wins. He finished his rookie season with six goals and two assists and was also and outstanding two-way player. He was effective in the faceoff circle and had two power play goals.

A player the Saint coaching staff likens to graduated senior Travis Vermeulen, Kyle Essery scored 17 goals and had 22 assists for the Georgetown Raiders last season. He was playoffs MVP in 2008-09 for Georgetown. The son of Rick and Yvonne Essery, Kyle graduated from Loyola Catholic Secondary School and ran track and field and cross country in addition to playing ice hockey.
