Biography
2019-20: The team’s Dr. Stuart A. Winning Most Valuable Player, Mannella played in 18 games for the Saints in his senior season, making 17 starts and finishing with three wins at 3-11-2… He earned the Saints' first win of the season with a season-high 40-save performance at Mercyhurst on October 12 and finished with six 30-plus save games on the year…He also posted a 3-0 shutout win at Bentley and stopped 27 to help the Saints to a 6-3 win over then-No. 20 Harvard on Senior Night in Appleton Arena…He was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week on October 28 and was also voted the Athletic Department’s Male Senior Scholar-Athlete Award winner for the Class of 2020.
2018-19: Mannella played in 15 games for Saints, making 10 starts and finished with the best GAA (3.66) and save percentage (.914) among the goaltending corps with a 3-9-0 record…He helped the Saints to a 4-2 win over Clarkson on Legends Night with 48 saves, stopped another 48 in a 3-2 win over Princeton and made a career-high 58 saves in the Saints’ 3-2 overtime win over Dartmouth in the first-round playoff series…He also tied the program record for saves in a period with 23 in the second period at Yale on Jan. 19…He was named an AHCA Scholar All-America and also a member of the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team
2017-18: Mannella had a breakout season in goal before suffering an injury at RPI on January 12 that sidelined him for the remainder of the year...After three appearances in relief, Mannella made his first career start at Brown on November 11...He made 36 saves in a 3-2 win over Vermont on December 29 for the first of his career and followed that up with his first collegiate shutout in a 3-0 win over UMass Lowell on December 30 to help the Saints win the Catamount Cup...He was named the Catamount Cup MVP and was also a member of the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team...Mannella finished with a 2.45 GAA and .929 save percentage through 10 games played with a 3-2-1 record on the year.
2016-17: Mannella made his first collegiate appearance in relief at Providence in October, playing 13:09 minutes and making seven saves.

Mannella played the majority of the 2015-16 season with the Whitby Fury in the Ontario Junior Hockey League where he posted a 17-18-0 record in 36 games played...He finished with a 3.11 goals against average and a .907 save percentage, making 1086 total saves on the year...At Holy Cross Catholic Academy, he was an honor roll student, a Platinum Award winner and an Ontario Scholar...He was also a member of the school's basketball team.
