Ryan Durocher joins the Saint men’s hockey staff as video coach for the 2015-16 season.
He spent 2014-15 as associate head coach of the New England Wolves in the Eastern Hockey League. During his time on the staff, the team advanced 16 players to NCAA hockey programs. Along with his coaching/recruiting duties, Durocher was also responsible for all hockey operations duties as well as video breakdown and analysis for team and individual sessions.
Prior to his time with the Wolves, Durocher was assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Southern New Hampshire University. Durocher recruited his first class at SNHU during the 2012-13 season and it helped pay dividends during the 2013-14 Northeast-10 championship run where Southern New Hampshire won its first title in program history. Two players from that class were Northeast-10 All Rookie selections. The team also had two first team all-conference players, the player of the year and two second team all-conference picks.
A native of Canton, N.Y., Durocher played collegiately at SUNY Cortland from 2008-12 and was a member of the SUNYAC All-Academic Team. Prior to enrolling at Cortland, he played junior hockey with the Boston Bulldogs (AJHL), Cornwall Colts (CJHL) and New Hampshire Junior Monarchs (EJHL). Durocher is the all-time leading scorer at National Sports Academy (Lake Placid, N.Y.).
Durocher has spent the last four summers as a coach working for New York and Massachusetts USA Hockey Development Camps. He also spent eight summers working at Can/Am Hockey Camp, assisting players ranging from ages 6-16 improve their game as well as working with them on weight training and skill analysis via video. Durocher also gets involved with college hockey team prospect camps as well.
Durocher is a 2012 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in Sport Management and completed his master’s degree in Sport Management with a concentration in athletic administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2014.
