2011: Nelson bounced back nicely from an injury in his rookie season, as he worked his way into the line-up for both the Liberty League and NYSCTC Championships.  A member of the Liberty League's All-Academic team, Zach posted a collegiate-best time of 27:06 at the 2011 Saratoga Invitational.

2010:
Nelson's season was cut short due to injury, though he did return to have a successful outdoor track and field season in the spring of 2011.  Zach finished in 30th place at the North Country Five Meet, his only cross country event of 2010.

At Albany Academy
Nelson was a tri-sport athlete, competing in Cross Country as well as Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field.  The Knox, NY native was a three-time MVP of the cross country squad and was a four-time Colonial Council All-Star.  A High Honor Roll student, Zach was the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award for both track and field and cross country.
