Biography
2016-17: A two year season starter for the Saints, Kobis tied with Kyle Edwards averaging 32.3 minutes per game... He ranked second on the team with 24 steals and fifth in scoring with 254 points… He averaged 9.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, and finished his career with 975 points… He scored 22 points at Clarkson for his season-best performance.
2015-16: Kobis was one of two players to play and start in every game for the Saints and was second on the team averaging 28.8 minutes per game … He averaged 8.5 points per game and was second on the team in free throw percentage hitting 35-of-43 attempts for an 81.4 percentage … He scored a season-best 17 points against Union and also scored 16 points in the season finale against Skidmore in the Liberty League Tournament … He was a Liberty League weekly Honor Roll selection in late January and was a Liberty League All-Academic selection.
2014-15: Kobis played in 24 of the 25 games and started 10 for the Saints as a sophomore … He finished fourth on the team with an average of 9.0 points per game … He was tied for third with 27 steals and led the team with 40 3-pointers and 111 long range attempts … Netted a season-high 19 points against Bard on the strength of 7-for-11 shooting including 5-for-7 from 3-point range … He matched the 19 points against Skidmore in early February with 7-for-11 from the field and 5-for-6 3-point range shooting … Earned a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic team.
2013-14: Kobis was one of St. Lawrence's most reliable shooters in his first season, as he shot 42% from the floor and 37% from behind the arc. The Elma, NY native averaged 11.6 points per game while adding 75 assists and 24 steals. His efforts earned Kobis a spot on the conference's All-Rookie squad.
Prior to St. Lawrence
Kobis was a three-sport athlete, participating in basketball, baseball and soccer. He captained the basketball team in his junior and senior year at Bishop Timon, and then at Berkshire in postgrad. A two-time First Team All-Catholic selection at Bishop Timon, he earned First Team All-Tri-State and Second Team All-New England honors at Berkshire.Â
