2009: Swertfager served as a back-up offensive lineman in his rookie campaign with the Scarlet and Brown.

Swertfager was a four-sport athlete, competing in Football, Lacrosse, Skiing and Baseball. He was a stand-out on the gridiron, where he was a two-time All-League selection and earned the team's "Coaches Award" in 2007. A senior captain of the football squad, Swertfager also earned the Athletic Counsel Award in his final year.
