Gilbert earned the Most Improved and Coaches’ Awards at Salisbury, and was also a member of the hockey and crew teams. He earned National Football Foundation and Collegiate Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Awards, was an honor roll student and won the school’s Outstanding Actor award.
