Prior to St. Lawrence

Maye was a three-year captain of the varsity football team at Saranac Central. He was the Section VII Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a senior and was a Third-Team All-State quarterback. He broke the Section VII single-game record for passing yards with a career high of 414, and won four medals at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association track and field championships.

An honor roll student, Maye is the younger brother of former All-Liberty League tight end John Maye '18.
