Prior to St. Lawrence

Nicoll was a member of the football, wrestling and baseball teams at Lincoln High School. He earned the RIIL Distinguished Achievement Award, the Rhode Island Football Foundation Golden Dozen, a two-time team defensive MVP, All-Area Team honoree, Second-Team All-State, a four-time All-Division (Football), All-State (Wrestling), and three-time All Division (Wrestling). Academically, Nicoll was a member of the National Honor Society, a Vermont Junior Book Award winner, a First Honors student, and graduated in the top-10 of his class.
