2016: Brightman served as a student assistant for the Saints during the 2016 season.

2015: Brightman was injured and missed the entire year … He helped the team as a student assistant coach in 2015 … Earned a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic team.

2014: Brightman appeared in nine games and finished sixth on the team with 41 tackles as a sophomore linebacker … He had a season-best 11 tackles including five solo stops against Hobart … He registered six tackles against both Morrisville and Springfield and had five tackles in the Norwich, RPI and Merchant Marine games … He earned recognition as a member of the Liberty League All-Academic team.

2013: Brightman worked his way into the line-up for St. Lawrence in the latter part of the season, playing in four games... He recorded a career-high six tackles (3 solo, 3 assist) as well as his first career sack in the win over RPI.

Prior to St. Lawrence
Brightman was a tri-sport student-athlete, playing football, basketball and tennis. The Norwich, NY native captained the football team in his junior and senior seasons and earned All-State, All-County and All-Division during his career.
