During his time with the Hawkeyes, Trent was a member of teams that were selected to play in the BCS Orange Bowl, the Outback Bowl and the Insight.com Bowl. He was chosen to participate in leadership retreats and performed community outreach while representing the Iowa football program.

Following his playing career, Mossbrucker worked with the Norm Parker Football Class as a teaching assistant and as a sales intern at Business & Financial Strategies. However, he remained active with the Hawkeyes as a special teams intern, where he broke down video, assisted in special teams game-planning and met with linebackers and special teams coach LeVar Woods to complete assigned tasks.
