Tim Hayes joined the St. Lawrence University coaching staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2015 season. The Massena Central School Director of Athletics and former football coach works with the Saints' running backs.

Hayes has worked at several different St. Lawrence County school districts as a Special Education teacher, athletic administrator and head coach for football, hockey, golf and lacrosse.

Hayes serves on the Section X Life of an Athlete committee and has also served as the Section X Football chairperson and the Section X Golf chairperson. He also earned the 2012 Section X Athletic Administrator of the Year award.

Hayes attended SUNY Cortland where he finished with a Bachelors’ Degree in Physical Education. He continued his education and earned a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and Media Management from SUNY Potsdam.

In 2019, Hayes helped Saints' running back Jamie Battaglia earn Second-Team All-Liberty League honors after posting 649 rushing yards with five touchdowns, including 100-yard performances against Utica College and Buffalo State.
