Stephen Tate joined the St. Lawrence University coaching staff for the 2016 season after a successful stint in corporate sales and a four-year professional football playing career. Tate will work with the defensive backs.
After playing four seasons as a starting defensive back at NCAA Division I Hofstra where he finished with 123 tackles and four interceptions, Tate signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins in 2008. He played professionally for Head Coach Dennis Green and the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
His sales career included positions with Carahsoft Technology Corporation in Reston, Va., Cegid Group and ShopKepp Technology in New York City.
Tate, a Centreville, Va. Native, earned a Business Administration degree from Hofstra in 2008.
